April 4, 2015..Saturday night!
For someone who is as busy as I am, I seldom hang out with friends on a Saturday night. You see, I am very stingy with my time. I want the weekend to myself alone. BUT, this particular Saturday was different because I decided to go with my friends Flora and Ivy to see the lunar eclipse at the Waterfront, Bandar.
7:15pm. 7:30pm. 8:00pm.. The definition of a friend changed in a matter of 45 minutes.
There was no sign of friends. There were only my calls and messages to them.
AND, there was my grumbling stomach…My not so friendly stomach dictated my feet to walk and find a coffee shop.
When I turned to the other side of the road, my eyes caught this coffee shop, Piccolo Cafe. I crossed the street and walked to the cafe.
Pleasant smell…neat tables and chairs..the staff did not snub me… a welcoming ambience…posh lights. These were the forces that shook me upon entering the place.
At that time, I was really famished and desirous of lots of food.
Tuna and latte has always been my favorite combination and I was delighted to see both on their menu. What a good life! The universe was being so thoughtful of my situation. “Poor you, your friends have not yet turned up and so to compensate for it, let me give you what you like, patient child!”
And so I ordered. Price was reasonable, slightly over $9.
When you are new to something, a selfie, is simply essential. And so, while waiting for my order, I took out my phone and took a picture of the place and my face. Thanks, to my student, Aqillah, who gave a nice shawl from Japan. I was able to use it for this selfie.
My order came, and so was the message of my 2 friends. Ivy texted, “Sorry, I fell asleep.” Flora texted, “Sorry, I fell asleep.”
Errmmm..I was a little bit speechless.. They chose sleep over me.. Huhuhu..You hurt me! (sensitive me, hahaha!) How sad and painful at the same time.
Well, actually, I didn’t get hurt. I know they are always impoverished with sleep. You two, sleep some more!
Let them sleep and let me enjoy my tuna and latte.

Thanks for the friendship, Piccolo Café!
I will come back again and I will make sure, I will drag Ivy and Flora with me.
